Priyanka Chopra: WYR failure did impact me

Close to three months after the release and failure of WHAT’S YOUR RAASHEE? at the box office, Priyanka Chopra has confessed that the non-performance of the film did break her heart. While she continued to surround herself with ton loads of work practically every day, she has just opened up for the first time in a candid conversation and agreed that it isn’t possible not be affected with professional setbacks like these.

“I would be lying if I say that WHAT’S YOUR RAASHEE? failure didn’t impact me. It did. In fact it truly broke my heart because there was a lot that went into the making of the film”, says Priyanka who was earlier seen in KAMINEY and saw quite some critical acclaim coming her way in spite of only a few scenes in the Vishal Bharadwaj directed action thriller.

In this sense, Priyanka has been enjoying quite a bit if critical acclaim during last one year. Other than KAMINEY and WHAT’S YOUR RAASHEE?, she was also hailed for FASHION and DOSTANA last year, both of which were successful at the box office.

“But then when a film doesn’t work, it does cause you a lot of pain”, she says while bringing on a smile on her face, “Failure of every film is heartbreaking and WHAT’S YOUR RAASHEE? wasn’t any different. Thankfully everyone who did see the movie came out appreciating my performance. I would have been shattered if some out there would have said that they hated my performance. It would have certainly set me into an introspection mode.”

Next to arrive is PYAAR IMPOSSIBLE where Priyanka would be seen as a young beautiful urban girl who crosses path with a geek (played by Uday Chopra). “It’s one of the simplest films that I have done. It’s a nice feel good teeny romcom. It’s a fun film and is the kind that you enjoy with a bag full of popcorn and a smile on your face”, says Priyanka.
