Priyanka Chopra: ‘I want the world to notice Indian singers’

Priyanka Chopra has revealed that she wants her album to show off Indian music to the world.

The actress will be launching her debut LP internationally next year.

Chopra told Hindustan Times: “I don’t know how good a singer I am, that I’ll leave to people to judge, but there are many others who’re really talented. I want the world to sit up and take notice of India and Indian artistes.”

The album features three songs written by her friend and rapper Jay Sean, who is currently touring.

Chopra said that it is “unlikely” her promotional work will allow her to join him on stage for any of his shows.

She said: “I’d like to be in the audience at one of his concerts if my schedule permits. I’m juggling with three big films Agneepath, Barfee and Krrish 3 and the Don 2 promotions.

“Time is short. My team keeps flying down from Los Angeles to Mumbai, where I’m shooting, to work with me on the album.”

It was recently reported that Chopra’s music commitments had delayed the shoot of her film Barfee.
