Priyanka campaigns for children’s charity

Priyanka Chopra is to represent the Save the Children charity in India.

According to Indian government statistics, there are 12 million children under 14 years of age working for a living.

Speaking at a press conference for the charity, Chopra said: “Save the Children is associated with about 11 states in India.

“I hope at some point of time to be able to visit at all places where Save the Children works and see for myself how much help I can be of and also in every possible way create awareness about how important education is in our country.”

The Kaminey star also wore a silver ring by Bvlgari with an engraving of the Save The Children logo.

The ring is to be available in all exclusive jewellers across India, with proceeds going to the children’s charity.

Chopra is well known for her charity work. In 2006, the actress auctioned a day in her company on eBay to raise funds for a charity that campaigned for rural girls’ rights to education.
