“We are excited to collaborate with Vashuji on this film. We have had such an amazing response to our regional film ventures and we are now looking forward to our Punjabi debut,” Priyanka said in a statement.

Bhagnani too is glad to collaborate with Priyanka. “After so many years of being in the industry, we now got the opportunity to work together and are making our debut as producers in Punjabi films together,” he said.

Co-produced by Priyanka’s mother Madhu Chopra and Vashu Bhagnani, Sarvann, is coming-of-age story of a young boy who unknowingly discovers his true identity. Directed by Karan Guliani, the movie stars Amrinder Gill, Ranjit Bawa and Simi Chehail.

The first schedule of Sarvann has been completed in Canada and the second marathon schedule began on September 5.

The movie stars Amrinder Gill, Simi Chehail and Ranjit Bawa and written by Amberdeep Singh and Music by Jatinder Shah.

Madhu Chopra says, “Sarvann is a beautiful and heart-touching narrative of a young NRI returning to India to find his roots. What better than starting the second schedule of Sarvann on the auspicious occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi!”

While the first schedule of the ambitious venture has been shot in Canada, the second marathon schedule of Sarvann commences from September 5 in Chandigarh on the auspicious occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi

Actress Priyanka Chopra’s production house, Purple Pebble Pictures (PPP), has begun working on its first Punjabi feature film, which will be a coming-of-age drama.

The yet-untitled movie features Punjabi star Amrinder Gill in the lead role.

“It is a young boy’s coming-of-age story of unknowingly discovering his true identity. The film is already on floors with Amrinder Gill. It will be shot in various locations in India, including Punjab, and then in Canada as well,” a spokesperson said.

“Purple Pebble Production’s Punjabi film is not ‘Ek Onkar’ and it is yet untitled. A formal announcement of the title will be made soon,” the spokesperson added.

The film has been directed by Karan Guliani, who has also penned the story with Ambadeep Singh.

Priyanka’s mother Madhu Chopra will be producing the project.

The 33-year-old actress, who began shooting today for the second season of her American TV show “Quantico”, will be in the US shooting for the show till December.

“She will be there till the end of the year. She might come here in between as she has some commitments including brand endorsements and all,” a source said.

The actress wrapped up a special appearance for her upcoming regional production on July 2 before flying off to New York.

After wrapping up a three-day schedule for her Marathi production, the Rajesh Mapuskar-directed Ventilator in Mumbai recently, Priyanka Chopra flew off to New York on July 4 with mum, Madhu Chopra, to start filming the second season of her American TV show, Quantico. The schedule will go on through 14-hour shifts till March 2017. PeeCee gets two-three India trips in between.

She may be away from her desi films, but the actress admits that she has a “teesri aankh” and is too much of a micro-manager to let others take decisions for her. “Ventilator directed by Rajesh Mapuskar has my name attached to it so I have to be comfortable with everything that’s happening. The crew back home teases me saying that US main baithe baithe I know everything that’s happening in Mumbai,” she chuckled between shots for the film at a Versova studio. She is dressed in ripped denims, a white ganjee and a trench coat for a shot, which she picked out from her personal wardrobe. While the aforementioned appearance was set in a theatre with assistant directors posing as students, the actress also filmed a special Marathi song. “Life is transient and I am a creative person who constantly looks for new outlets. I have been writing a lot and I am producing films, I like to evolve in different directions,” she asserted.

This is PeeCee’s third regional production, the first being the Bhojpuri June release, Bam Bam Bol Raha Hai Kashi, and the second a Punjabi drama titled Ek Onkar. “Soon, I am going to do another three films in different languages. My focus is on small-budget movies. It’s a great time for filmmaking and there’s interesting stuff coming my way,” she says confidently.

From beauty pageant winner to international actress, singer and now, a producer, there’s a reason why her American crew calls her the “multihyphenated Priyanka Chopra”.

She takes it as a compliment. “If I wasn’t producing films or doing different things like my web-series, I would still have been successful because I am a winner by nature and a survivor. People pursue happiness, success, money or fame, for me it’s the pursuit of excellence. I want to be excellent at my role in my Marathi film too, even if it is a guest appearance. If you’re consistent, you will never be denied success, no matter the age or stage,” she signs off.

“Victoria walks in slow motion all the time; she doesn’t run because it’s too much of an effort,” actress tells TheWrap

Priyanka Chopra goes head-to-head with Dwayne Johnson in the “Baywatch” movie, but the “Quantico” star says she does it in a “womanly way.”

Though she’s proven her mettle by doing her own stunts on ABC’s FBI drama, Chopra says that doesn’t mean she could actually fight with the enormous former pro wrestler. “He’d crush me with his pinky,” Chopra said in an interview with TheWrap.

“I put my highest heels on in all of those scenes, because I’m really patronizing, extremely insulting and evil and manipulative,” she said, before adding “And extremely delicious.”

Chopra will star in Paramount’s big-screen adaptation of the classic 1990s TV series when “Baywatch” hits theaters next year.

Originally written for a man, Chopra’s character is Victoria, the villainous real estate developer trying to destroy the bay beloved by the lifeguards played by Johnson and Zac Efron.

“Slow motion is my game. Slow motion is my thing,” Chopra said, recalling memories of watching “Baywatch” with her mother while growing up in India. “Victoria walks in slow motion all the time; she doesn’t run because it’s too much of an effort. She just walks in her couture and high heels.”

And the actress, who had a huge career as a model, singer and Bollywood actress before making a crossover to American audiences with “Quantico,” has plenty of experience getting things done in heels. Even when she plays the FBI trainee Alex Parrish on the ABC drama, “You don’t notice it because the attention doesn’t go there, but I’m always in heels,” she said.

“I think because I was Miss World, and I modeled for a little while, I have — I just like heels, actually,” Chopra said. “I think that’s the truth. I’m trying to find an excuse.”

“Who doesn’t want to be like five inches taller whenever they can be?” she added. “If boys could, they’d be wearing heels.”

Bollywood diva Priyanka Chopra today came out in support of Anurag Kashyaps “Udta Punjab” and said creativity should not be stopped in democracy.

“Our forefathers achieved freedom of speech and expression for us after a long struggle… Creativity should not be stopped in democracy,” Chopra told reporters here.

In reply to a question regarding the action on “Udta Punjab” by the censor board, which had raised objection to her film “Jai Gangaajal”, Priyank said it was a “Certification body and not censor”.

“In democracy you cannot dictate what one should eat or watch a movie on a social issue,” said Priyanka, who was recently awarded the Padam Shri and has now ventured into Hollywood.

In a reply to another query on whether removal of a word in the title of a movie was justified, she said, “Title is the creativity of every producer and director. So, how can it be changed?”

The leading Bollywood star was here to promote Bhojpuri film Bum Bum Bol Raha hai Kashi produced by her. She was accompanied by her mother Madhu Chopra, who is a co-producer of the film.

“Bum Bum Bol Raha hai Kashi” will be released in cinema halls tomorrow. The films script is written and directed by Santosh Mishra and has Dinesh Lal Yadav Niruaha in the lead role.

Amrapali Dubey and Antra Banerjee are the female cast in the film.

Asked why she chose to produce a Bhojpuri film as her first venture, Priyanka said, “Bhojpuri is my moms mother tongue. Besides, regional movies should be encouraged.”

Priyankas family hails from Gumla near Jamshedpur which was part of undivided Bihar till 2000, when Jharkhand was carved out of it.

The film promotion was held at P & M Mall owned by filmmaker Prakash Jha.

Mumbai, May 6 () Priyanka Chopra might be flying high with her Hollywood projects but back home her mother Madhu believes the actress would be equally willing to star in regional cinema.
The “Bajirao Mastani” star has produced a Bhojpuri film along with her mother titled “Bam Bam Bol Raha Hai Kashi”.

The film is produced under their banner Purple Pebble Pictures.

When asked if she would like Priyanka to star in a Bhojpuri film, Madhu told reporters, “If someone comes up with a good project, she has nothing against regional cinema. She has done Tamil and Telugu films. But some story should come to her which will turn into a good product.”

Madhu said Priyanka believes in good work irrespective of the region or boundaries.

“She anyway has said that ‘I do not belong to any particular region.’ Whether it’s anywhere in the world or India, she will do good projects.”

The 33-year-old actress starred in the American TV series “Quantico” and is filming the Hollywood movie “Baywatch”.

Madhu says she is extremely proud of her daughter, who was recently honoured with the Padma Shri.

“As her mother I am very proud of her. She has worked so hard and got recognition not only for herself, or her family but for the entire country. Everyone looks at her as a representative of India, that people like her are in the country. I am extremely proud of her.”

“Bam Bam Bol Raha Hai Kashi” features Bhojpuri star Dinesh Lal Yadav aka Nirahua as the main lead.

Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and Zac Efron are in the middle of filming Baywatch, showing lots of skin, and so they are both super ripped at the moment. “Dwayne and Zac both look like beasts right now,” co-star Priyanka Chopra told at the Time 100 Gala on Tuesday. “They both can, like, pop pennies on their abs right now. They really can,” she said.

“I have to wear extra-high heels so that I can look intimidating, because I’m the villain in the movie. Otherwise, you know, I’m so little and so tiny, and I have to look up to them, and it doesn’t work.”

Chopra says that everyone in the Baywatch cast is extra-ripped. “So I hide behind my towels and eat my burgers because everyone else is on salad, and I feel guilty,” she said. “Except Kelly Rohrbach, who eats pizza in secret.” She says that DiCaprio-ex Rohrbach is really funny. “I love her because we sit and eat pizza together — even though she looks ridiculously sick in that swimsuit.” (Eventually, the Quantico star admitted that she also looks pretty great in her swimsuit, despite the pizza and burgers.)

Chopra said being named as one of Time‘s 100 most influential people and being on the cover of the magazine blew her mind. “I’ve been in America just six months now, my show aired only in September, and it’s so great to have such an incredible reception in a country where I don’t hail from, you know? It feels amazing to just be acknowledged for my work, and nothing else.”

From one influential woman to another! Priyanka Chopramight be one of TIME’s 100 Most Influential honorees this year, but as it turns out she is easily taken by another powerful individual: Kate Middleton.

“I love Kate Middleton,” the Quantico star told HELLO! on Tuesday at the TIME 100 Gala in New York City. “I think she is so great and she’s so graceful.”

Prince William and the Duchess of Cambridge recently visited the TV star’s native India, where they mingled with well-known Bollywood names at a glittering reception. However, sadly for Priyanka, she missed out on her invitation to meet the royal couple because of work.

At the time, “I was shooting my show in Montréal at that time and Baywatch in Miami,” the 33-year-old admitted, though she is hopeful for a royal encounter in the future. Priyanka said, “I’m sure there will be an opportunity where my path will cross with them.”

While she was unable to hang out with William and Kate, the Baywatch star has been in good company with her hunky co-stars Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and newly-singleZac Efron while filming the upcoming movie. “The boys are amazing,” she confessed. ”They’re just super funny. I’m having such a great time with them. They’ve become such nice friends.”

Not only have the leading men’s looks made an impression on Priyanka, but she has also taken note of their eating habits. “I’m just surprised that they look the way they do and they eat the way they do, you know?” she revealed. “I never thought that could happen, but they’re eaters. They love their food.”
